FRACGP Fellows with FARGP or rural and remote experience

If you’re a GP with the RACGP Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP) or a practising RACGP Fellow (FRACGP) with rural and remote experience, you can apply for partial or full recognition of prior learning and experience to obtain Rural Generalist Fellowship.

A $950 recognition of prior learning and experience application fee will apply. If you receive partial recognition and you’re required to undertake Additional Rural Skills Training, you’ll also need to pay the relevant fee for your chosen discipline prior to training in your chosen skill.

FRACGP Fellows without FARGP or rural and remote experience

If you’re a practising RACGP Fellow (FRACGP) without rural and remote experience and you’re interested in acquiring rural generalist skills, you can apply for the RACGP Rural Generalist Fellowship.

You’ll be required to provide evidence of 12 months of rural (MMM3-7) community general practice experience and complete:

  • 6 months of core emergency medicine training
  • 12 months of Additional Rural Skills Training

A $950 application fee will apply. You’ll also be required to pay an Additional Rural Skills Training fee prior to participating in your chosen skill. This fee will vary according to the discipline chosen.

You’re expected to achieve Fellowship within two calendar years from commencing training.

ACRRM Fellows

If you’re an ACRRM Fellow, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning and experience to obtain the RACGP Rural Generalist Fellowship. 
 
A $950 recognition of prior learning and experience application fee will apply.
