The Paramedicine Board of Australia (ParaBA) is conducting a public consultation as part of its proposal to regulate advanced practice paramedics.

This follows interest from Health Ministers for the ParaBA to explore regulatory options for advanced practice paramedics and enabling independent prescribing outside of ambulance services. The ParaBA is seeking feedback on its proposed approach.

There are several ways to engage in providing feedback:

  1. Recording your feedback on the public consultation questions template or short version public consultation questions and emailing the completed template (as a word document) to [email protected] or
  2. Completing the public consultation questions via an online survey or
  3. Responding to the short version: public consultation questions template which is four key questions in an online survey.
  4. Provide feedback direct to the RACGP for use in our submission by using this template.

The consultation is open from Wednesday 23 April 2025 to Friday 20 June 2025.

RACGP will be providing a submission. If you would like to provide comments for consideration in RACGP’s submission, please provide your comments to [email protected] by COB Wednesday 14 May.
