New RACGP strategic plan

General practice is the heart of Australia’s health system. And just as general practice keeps Australia healthy, the RACGP’s strategic priorities support the health of the profession.

The RACGP strategic plan 2020–22 details our priorities to achieve our mission to champion better health for all Australians – every patient, family and community.

The plan is our roadmap to advocating for quality, well-funded general practice to remain at the heart of Australian healthcare.

There are systemic changes required to deliver sustainable, high-quality care and this will require the sort of patient-centric and preventative health focus that are the hallmark of general practice.

By the end of 2022, we will:

  • transform the member experience to deliver exceptional value
  • more effectively advocate for quality, well-funded general practice
  • develop and implement a nation-leading education framework
  • become more operationally effective to better serve our GPs.

All people have the right to access safe healthcare. Medical neutrality in conflict zones must never be sacrificed, and no health workers should fear for their safety simply by doing their job caring for people.
